Job Title: Program Coordinator
Location: 550 Rice St Saint Paul (additional Metro travel infrequent)   

Reports to: Center Director 

Summary

FOCUS Minnesota seeks to hire a Program Coordinator to support established center programs.  This is a part-time position of approximately 16-18 hours per week.  The PC will assume a key role in FOCUS’ program administration and serve as a primary contact for FOCUS’ clients and volunteer staff.  With flexible hours and hourly pay rate of $18, this position will work primarily Monday-Thursday, with one Saturday morning a month and designated Sunday evenings as needed.

As an expression of Christ’s love, FOCUS exists to serve the poor by bringing together Orthodox Christian churches and community partners to provide Food, Occupation, Clothing, Understanding, and Shelter and other assistance to address the needs of local communities. Responsibilities

  1. Day-to-day Support with the Clothes Closet and Bagged Lunch distribution

    1. Interface with clients; assist with appointment scheduling and data tracking.

    2. Respond to volunteer inquiries, track volunteer absences and find replacement coverage.

    3. Share needs and answer questions surrounding donations with area Orthodox Parishes and individuals from the community. 

  2. Food Shelf Management

    1. Track and inventory food supplies for food programs and monthly food shelf distribution;

    2. Order from food banks and shop as needed;

    3. Recruit and supervise the team of food shelf volunteers for the monthly distribution (currently on the 3rd Saturday of the month).

  3. Oversee income and expenses

    1. Process invoices and donations in coordination with the National Office.

    2. Maintain files including donations, receipts, checks/reimbursement forms/receipts, Gift in Kind, volunteer hours, tenants keys/fobs, outside vendors, payment service contracts etc.

    3. Prepare and upload monthly reports with supporting documentation.

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).

  • De-escalation and trauma informed, compassionate response to diverse populations. 

Competencies: High level of comfort with public facing work and interactions. Cultural and local area sensitivity; ability to understand and work within an organization that supports unhoused, impoverished and vulnerable communities and demographics. Strong communication skills (writing and speaking); familiarity with record keeping using spreadsheets and databases; computer proficiency. Current driver’s license a plus.

Working Conditions: Located in FOCUS’ Saint Paul, MN center, with flexible days/hours upon mutual agreement. Minimal local travel occasionally required.
